Gem, that is not only not true, but not legal. That’s called hacking, and it’s not good internettiquette to to try to steal someone’s hard word. If you like the game, let the Software Developers know this by buying there product. Haven’t you ever wondered why you can’t download a game, delete it and then redownload it and play it again? Computers aren’t like they were when we were in out twenties, we could do all that stuff…but since then, they have developed cookies and CIDS and Program ID’s to try to protect their product. I loved the game, so I bought it. That’s the greatest kudo you can give an author.

I don’t feel comfortable buying something that is not tangible for $20.00. If they are legit, then they should offer the game on cd to be purchased and shipped. I don’t like the idea that I might pay the money and lose it if my computer crashes, or i buy a new one, or whatever the case may be. So I refuse to purchase something until it is avail on CD. If they don’t want to give it for free, offer it on CD.
That is definately your perogative, or your right, however do not try to take from someone that offers to sell it online. They do not have to do that, either. I view computer game purchasing like going to a good restaurant. Someone told me it was a good restaurant, I checked it out, I liked it, I ate it. I spent $24.00 to $30.00 on allowing my family to come with me. Which I am sure a lot of people do with their downloaded games. Billy Bob played it for a month!! Emily played it for 2 weeks! Good heavens, I could go on and on with fake analogies. But oh no, if the computer crashed it would be gone, but the non-tangible fulfillment of that wonderful game would still remain in your heart, but now as only a memory. As would the great enchilada dinner I took my family to, but don’t think twice of going back and getting another after the sewage engulfed this one.

I thought it was rude of you to say the things you said to “Gem” and was defending. I’m not buying the game, don’t want to unless it’s on CD and don’t care to compare it to eating at a restaurant where you are paying for service and convenience, those cannot be compared to a video game. Your concern is a valid one, and you are right about how owning a CD makes a game more tangible. To me, what IS tangible is the experience of playing a game. I run this site and I love playing the games, some of them are really worth buying in my opinion. There is a movement of some of the popular games moving to retail CD sales in addition to downloadable copies. Companies like playFirst are trying to make ways for the games to be more tangible even on their downloadable/online form. For example, http://www.playfirst.com/game/plantasia has global high scores. My brother happens to be at #1 right now for plantasia.
Other than that, if you ever “lose” a key or ever lose a way to play the game, our companies will work our hardest to get it back for you so you can always play a game you paid for. Check out http://www.thediamondgames.com/help/ for links to their help sections.
I will certainly add options to buy retail copies of games when they become available. Currently there are only a few games available on amazon.com of this type and price point.

Thanks Mark. I didn’t mean to make it sound annoying for the lady, and I didn’t know if you offered to retrieve games if lost. Thanks for the heads up on that one. I just kind of felt that it was wrong for one girl to tell a message board to take it off and re-download it. I know as a tester and graphics artist that a developer of these games would not appreciate this kind of chit-chat. I thought I was being diplomatic, but maybe not. I really appreciate the help you are offering in your free time! I also agree with you about how it is wrong for people to comment about ways to circumvent copy protection, and that is why I deleted those comments. I think you are being diplomatic, but I feel obligated to user a softer tone and to really think about what the persons worries are. I also feel I have added duties because I need to make it clear to users who come to this site what they are able to buy, and how their ownership of the game will be treated. I have a lot of technical background experience as I have been a Technical Support person for Packard Bell here in Utah before they became non-existent here. I am also married to an electronics tech that worked for the Navy and now does secret work out here in Dugway, UT. He ran the radar that followed the Genesis (to the ground) and the most recent Satellite the Stardust home. He fixes computers and software in his spare time and has taught me a lot. Let’s just put it this way, in 1979 we were Beauty and the Geek. Now, with me being 50 we are both Geek and Geek. Me not so much a beauty anymore, as age has its way with you.

I actually came here to get some hints and tips for playing the game, not read up on product key vs cd debate..
soooooooo that said… anyone got any hints and tips like what’s the best things to buy first etc? I seem to get stuck on August of the 3rd year, the one with critics, school kids, business men and brides all together… what a pain!!! my hands dont seem to be fast enough to keep up, I end up losing a lot of cakes cos the customer has stormed out…

What I did was made sure I got the ovens. You also have to get the microwaves upgrades. If you get a pace going that works pretty well, but when you pull three cakes out of the oven and put them on speed frosters, be sure and go give everyone a menu that doesn’t have one. Now some of your cakes might not be doubles and some might. Do the bottoms first, go back and get the tops, be sure and give them a treat and finish the tops and decos. Then when you deliver, you don’t deliver one you deliver three, and you can keep going as long as you pick up the money. Sometimes you have to deliver to those you can, don’t worry the others won’t kill you, but the trick is try to follow the clues she gives you. Like the kids will be out of school, we don’t want them upset. So we make sure we have microwaves.. Easter is a good time to get them if you don’t blow your first or second attempt at baking.

I looked at your website help page and it does look rather empty. Do you have anything in mind? Like do you want a listing of things that might cause a problem? Do you want to first add a more indepth description of how to install? If installation problems become a problem what not to do and what to do? I know I have had to learn the hard way “long time ago” that you had to uninstall something, possibly reboot (best to do) then reinstall as to not have conflicts.
It’s funny you asked me to review more games on this Diamond page as I own a logo with a pretty girl sitting on a diamond with her legs crossed. It’s an old logo that has been handed down for generations of dancers. I named one of me companies (dance) The Diamond Girls Revue back in the seventies. With having a husband that was transit all the time becomes we were Navy, I gave up the companies and kept the logo. So here’s Colleen’s “The Diamond Girl” Revue. That would be cool and use the Diamond logo.
Give me an idea of what you want and how you want it. Do you want it forum style, or so that all the technical questions go to you. I like the forum style ones as then other people rather than you or I can help answer the technical questions. But let’s keep it a technical help page and not some talk page.

It takes awhile to get use to doing the bottoms first, but I found that I make less mistakes. I just look, go round-triange-heart or whatever it might be and then usually by the time round is out if there is a diamond or something on top of that I stick the diamond cake cake in to bake. But I have them all frosting, so I turn around and give the ones with only 2 satisfations above their head a cake, because by now their baked. I hurry and get the star plop in on and frost it, take the ones that do need decos, flowers or slyder, whatever to where they need to be. If the have to wait I put the one on the cake tray. I look at the stars and see how their doing, moaning, or down to a star give them a cupcake. Keep shoveling them cupcakes. The trick is to give the cupcakes to the people that need them, and don’t leave yourself without cupcakes. Time it.
The kids are cool if you goto them and give them a cake as soon as you get it. Make sure you you give menus, don’t wait, that give you an extra star (or heart or whatever that is by their head, I can’t remember)If they are reading the menu they won’t get as mad.
Keep the cupcake maker new. Upgrade all the way. You will be able to keep up.
The brides shouldn’t complain-they are buying their wedding cake the day of their wedding! They probably will get back and they will be stood up at the alter.
Later in the game you will see where it says “we should make a lot of cakes for later.” That will be in the Christmas tree on. All you will get is Christmas trees. Just push the buttons, don’t wait to see what they want. All you will have to do is frost the colors.

I will write a page on Diner Dash 2 when I find it to play it. I have games from everywhere on my computer. In fact, I was wondering for a long time why everyone else in the world had Mystery Case Files and Real Arcade is just releasing it this week. I also tested a game called Pirate Poppers I will write a page for you. It’s by Mystery Games. I thought it would be a good game when I seen it was by Mystery, pretty cute. If you like those shooting balls where they have to be games. This game is more on a puzzle base, it makes you think where you have to shoot the balls to eliminate the other balls. And its not like Amun Rising and that where it moves so fast that you can’t think, it’s slow.
Anyway, I will get my logo scanned on this hard drive, it’s been a few years since I have needed it. It is a girl with her legs crossed sitting on a diamond. The same type you have falling there. It’s in good taste, don’t worry.

ok it would seem I’ve reached the casino… and I’m stuck in February, talk about super fast… If I can’t get past this how am I supposed to buy back the poor shop?
I have all the ovens and trays at full levels and the microwave going full speed, and even with the cupcakes and tv and my flame shoes, I can’t keep up with the orders and the ppl keep leaving *sigh*
That’s not my biggest problem, my computer keeps locking up and crashing when I go too fast! I need a game computer! My hubby promised to upgrade not long ago but we didn’t.
I am getting a new graphics card this week, I hope that helps. A lot of games wont play without T&L compatibility anymore. I think my virtual memory is my problem most of the time. I had to change my games (I had over 100) on one drive and I have my 230 GIGS divided into three drives. So everything was messing up. Not all problems will recognize “oh, ok- let’s check out drive e and f to play games because the’re partitianed(probably mispelled). So, I think soon I will just get a new game computer!
Im sorry but that’s way over my head… my hubby takes care of all that but usually he just buys another stick of ram and puts it into whichever pc isn’t up to speed.

Hey, I think I know how to beat the casino. You have to make sure you have the TV and change the channels to the mouth moving guy for the dudes. They seem to like that. But better than all that I found out that if you take the top and the bottom of the cake put them side by side and frost the at the same time, transfer the top to the bottom, but the orna ment on top, it’s quicker.
I am sorry I get talking about stuff I think everybody knows, should know better!

I just finished the game! Was obsessed for a couple of days! I found it best to upgrade my microwave and shoes first. Then the frostings - 2 to mid-level, and ovens - 2 to mid-level. I only did 1 decoration on each tray. I DID NOT get the wedding couple until the casino - you have to have it to progress by summer on that level. I upgraded the other (ship) deco tray until the very end. I found it was faster to do the tops of the 2 level decorated cakes first, so I can decorate the top while the bottom is being baked and frosted. Fun, but addictive!
I cannot get pass the casino feb. level. It seems impossible. Any advice???? It seemed fun and relatively easy until now. I have one oven and two frosters on the lightening and the rest are upgraded 1 time. the shoes are on the lightening, and both decor are full and have 1 upgrade each, I have the tv and i bake cupcakes, so now what???? I have tried this level about 30 times to no prevail. Are the rest of the levels hard like this??? I really think the game was awesome until now, and so i am feeling a little frustrated.
I download these demos and mess with them for a while, but IMO as a professional gamer, these games are not worth what the programmer is asking for them. Diner Dash charged 20.00 for their game online and you can now buy it at Wal-mart for 5.00.
There are some that I enjoy very much when I only have an hour or so to play something while Im waiting for a download to finish, however, if the people who make these games like Diner Dash and Cake Mania want people to buy their games, they really need to drop the price, IMO.Twenty dollars is too high for what these games entail.

truely I thought most of this was way over my head but I kept at it and finally last night I finished the casino level *bring on cake mania 2*
just make sure that along the way you manage to get all 3 trays and ovens and fully upgrade them, the shoes and decoration trays too… but dont worry too much about having the bridal decoration in time for the brides they really dont mind that much lol
the cupcakes and tv are a must, most of the boys like chanel 1, the business men all like chanel 2 and all the women like chanel 3… give a cupcake to each boy as they enter

Okay, Diner Dash came out some time ago as I have been playing it for months. If you know anything about business you know what happens onces they have reached the profit level. Once they have sold enough at a certain price they can pass the deals on to you. The people that make these just want to break even, people like Walmart by at cost and sell for more. First they check the supply and demand, if it doesn’t go they aren’t going to lose a case of “Diner Dash” or any other game for that matter. It isn’t so much that the games are not worth it, if you like the game you can play for a long time, some of us handicapped people that can’t run out to the store everyday find these games online great.
We don’t expect to get a $5.00 game. I have never seen one of these games for that price, anyway.

I will be soon adding links to buy physical copies of games for the ~30 games that are in retail. This will allow people to buy used copies from amazon.com at a cheaper price. Maybe that will help for an older game like Diner Dash!
I agree, I am not handicapped physically but I am housebound and can’t run to any store on a regular basis and I certainly don’t expect to pay $5.00 for games of such high standards.
Also I live in Australia so it’s even harder, it takes months if not years to get the same games coming into the stores here, that’s if they arrive at all. I have never seen any of the Diamond games in any of our stores so online is my only option.
I look forward to seeing the list of games that will become available to buy in physical copy though

well actually Im a Danish Aussie hehe, moved here when I was 5 and became an Australian Citizen shortly after.
We love it here… specially in the area we live in there is NO floods, earthquakes or volcanos or hurricanes or any such natural disasters.. I take it back about the flooding we did have a small one about 10 years ago but it didnt come up much past the roads definately no fatalities here from them lol.
Direct debit is like on ebay… you pay by getting the banking details off the buyer and paying money directly into their account from yours. simple no?

Sometimes they come out, but more often the door opens and then shuts again. Should I uninstall and re-install?
To everyone having the cupcake/microwave problem, this is a known bug and there have been updated versions of the game released. Download the game again and install it again to update the files. Hey heyyy.. i just finished casino feb. I was stucked on this level like for 3 days, and I finnaly found the the pattern. At this stage i got all of the appliances needed: 3 ovens, 3 deco trays, 3 frosting tray, cupcakes micro, and telly. The key on this stage is the order in serving customers. There are only 3 types of customers, and the serving priority are as follows:
1. Cupid. no matter how busy the shop you have to serve him first. take order, give cupcakes, and start baking. Also most of the times you even need to give cupcakes more than 3 times to keep him patient
2. Businessman in hawaian shirt. after cupid you, he’s the guy to served next. Always put telly on news channel, and cupcakes is also essential to bribe gim
3. Businessman in a suit. Dont worry to much about him, he’s always willing to wait as long as you put news channes, which you already did when you serve businessman in hawaian shirt.

just found this site because for days I am stuck at casino october. I have all the upgrades and just cant seem to get 1700 close a couple of times but just cant get there. To those who have finished the game any tips on this for me, I am addicted to it but cant get it right. lol deb
Love the game - Some Hints I have found that work:
1 Upgrade cupcake maker asap
2 Upgrade shoes at least to med speed
3 On higher levels, don’t collect money until you have served everyone in line, then only collect two peopls money, so you only have two people to service.
4 Cupid likes the cartoon channel, so when you have a lot of cupids, put cartoons on.

The microwave or cupcake maker or whaever it is is a pain. Am I supposed to click on it or not? I could upgrade it again to space leve, but I seldom get any damn cupcakes at ANY level, and of course I need them for those brats! When you click on the microwave it shows a checkmark somethimes and sometimes not. It also gives cupcakes whenever it damn pleases itself, and not when I need them. I upgrade to space mode and it still gives me nothing. The timer starts,and often it shows me cakes but it won’t let me get them out. Cmon, I’ve beaten some of these games that I got for $19.99 online. But this is freaking me out. I feel like if I could master the microwave, I’d have a chance. -Sue (stuck on the beach bakery level)

here’s one way to finish the game. It worked for me, I finished the game only in a day. At first I was frustrated but then I found out it was quite easy. Here’s how:
when at first there are 4 buyers, make the cakes but then take only 2 money on the table, so there will be 2 money left on the table. This way, you can only serve 2 buyers. When you make the cakes for the 2 buyers and the cake almost finished, quickly take the 2 money left on the table so 2 more buyers will come in, give them the menu then give the cakes to the 2 buyers who are waiting, but don’t take the money! Do this again and again, and you’ll only need 2 oven and 2 frosters and you don’t even need the TV!
I’ve been addicted to these type of games since i first found diner dash… but cakemania is seriously frustrating me… i’m at the circus level 3 where i just need $600… i get to $591 and can’t get any further… all my customers are happy and none of them leave… i give them cupcakes and have the tv going all the time…
is there something else i should be doing coz i have no idea how to get past this level… i have assignments due and i cant think of anything els but this!! help!!

Here’s my idea: try selling more cakes with decorations on them. With decorations the cakes sell for more money. One way to do this is to make a special cake with decorations and put it on display. That way more customers are likely to want that cake and buy it (with the expensive deocrations!). I hope that helps!
Hey! Totally! It’s like patience is NOT a virtue when it comes to waiting even 30 seconds for a cake. And those rugrat-esque students!!! They’re the last in line and still think it acceptable to throw a tantrum if their slyder topped cake isnt delivered to them before the bridezillas, second in line, eat you alive! I much much prefer the old ladies and the sweet college students. Also do you not feel those damn critics yawn too damn much? How conceited can you get!!

What does the Deco Deluxe 2000 do and how does it work? I have upgraded to that and it is supposed to streamline the decorating process but I haven’t figured out how it works. Please help.

The microwave is pretty slow, it is automatic and it makes new cupcakes after you give away the last one. It makes batches of 4 at a time. It gets faster when you upgrade it. You really want to have it fir kids because even if they are blinking red and about to leave they will go back up to the full 5 stars if they eat a cupcake. It is not possible to interact with the microwave itself even tho the check mark shows up.

I started CakeMania yesterday after finishing Diner Dash 2 in one day. After beating Diner Dash 2, I thought cakemania would be a piece of cake. (Ha Ha ok bad joke) Well, I am stuck on casino February and it is crazy! By the time I look to the right and hand that cupid a cupcake he’s all furious again. LOL I appreciate the comments here and I am going back to try again with all the things you’ve suggested. If anyone has any other special tips for the casino levels let me know please. Is updating the shoes really worth it? Thanks! 
I also need help on the Feburary level at the casino. I can’t ever keep Cupid happy! I give him cupcakes and turn on the cartoon station, but then before I know it, he runs out and then I’m back to zero dollars! Someone please help!!!!!!
Stuck on February Casino too !! Just like Gina! It seems like the game speeds up like crazy at this level. Somebody who made it through, please help us!

Can someone please please help me?! I’m stuck on october, at the first level… every time it ends with the girl saying that Dracula sucks, even though I have played the level perfectly without missing a client, and without letting Dracula wait too long… what should I do?!

I don’t think anyone has made it past this level…..I too am stuck at the feb casino level. I’m thinking about putting Prozac or poison in Cupid’s cupcakes.
Well, it’s nice to see that I’m not the only one who want to bake that little cupid in the oven during the Casino level. The only thing I’ve managed to do is to slow down the client-wave by not taking the money off the counter right away, two by twos let you work, not to mention your nerves won’t explode (I know mine have!).
Also, a couple tips: One I found around the net and other I noticed during the game.
LEFT OVERS:
You know the girl registers the cakes not sold as loses (Also, don’t throw them straight to the trash, wait maybe they’ll work for some other client). Well, to avoid just a touch of that you can do this:
-When the last client orders and you still have some other cake left, sell him his/her cake, then before taking the money pick up the cake, then go for the money. The game won’t charge you for the one in your hand!
CAKE ON DISPLAY: (you’ll need to have the display dish already!)
Either when you start the day or whenever you have two seconds to spare: bake a cake and put it on display. Eventually someone will buy it exactly as you made it! Of course you have to put at least the frosting on! It can be quick or take a while but it’ll happen.

Make sure you always buy the fast shoes as well if you are struggling. Also if you are very busy don’t collect all the money that way more customers cannot come in. If you always leave one lot of change on the table you will only get 3 customers which is easy to deal with. I always get all ovens and frosters asap and make spare cakes at the beginning of each round. I leave one on one of the cookers as you don’t really need all 3 and then a spare one on the froster and a spare one on the display cabinet in the middle. I actually manage to complete this game really quickly doing it this way and wish they would add harder levels on now - p.s. I am a 35 year old mother playing this game - lol

i have done all levels and find it quite easy now. The trick is definately to leave money on the counter if you are getting busy to give you time to catch up.
I am trying it without fast shoes now as a bit of a challenge to myself. Good luck guys

Help!! when I play CM, it’s slow and freezes up at times. It shuts down by itself and my screen says “virtual memory is too low.” Then an error message comes on. My hard drive memory is great. I’m barely using any. Also did you know that if you have a cake leftover at the end of the game, to prevent having it subtracted from your total, have Jill hold it in her hand before you ring up the final order. It won’t be subtracted. Any ideas about how to prevent customers from leaving in a huff?

I just learned about leaving money on the counter to slow down play. I’ve played the casino level and just not waited on Cupid til he learns some manners. Let ‘em leave!!
For February, just keep the cartoons on. and Serve two at a time. Just wait til you get to october…Big Pain.
when i save a game in cake mania so i can come back to it later, i can’t find it listed. i have a bunch of beach level games saved. is it possible to delete saved games from when i first started playing? thanks!

For all of us addictive souls that can’t get enough of these kind of games, Sandlot games has what they call “a expansion” called Cake Mania: Bake to the Bakery. Its about the same as the 1st one with very little change but has some new patrons. Some may not want it as it’s not that different, but as I said at the start… for us addicted fools we just love to have a fix to our addictions! LOL!

I’m on the very last level and I keep losing over and over again! I have the trick where you only serve two customers at a time, I have a tv, cupcakes, the best shoes and ovens and frosters and decos…what do I do? I love this game, but I’m pretty stuck. I’ve lost to this level nearly more than 10 times! any help?
